Al Marah is a small community near Bannockburn Elementary School and Cabin John. It is near an entrance to the Beltway, and is just across from the Burning Tree Country Club.  

Alta Vista is the neighborhood behind the YMCA. A number of private schools and churches are in the neighborhood, as is the Maplewood-Alta Vista Park. Old Georgetown Road and Rockville Pike can easily be accessed from the neighborhood, making transportation to Rockville, downtown Bethesda and points on I-270 and the Beltway very easy 

Alta Vista Terrace is home to many employees of the National Institute of Health. It is very convenient to the YMCA and to North Bethesda Middle School.  

Ashleigh is bordered by Democracy Boulevard and Seven Locks Road. Bethesda Country Club is easily accessed from the neighborhood, and Cabin John Shopping Center is not too far away. Montgomery Mall, I-270 and I-495 are all also very nearby.  

Arrowood is bordered by Bradley Boulevard and the Burning Tree Country Club. It is near an entrance to both I-495 and I-270, making it very convenient.  

Bannockburn is the community surrounding near the intersection of River Road and Wilson Lane. It features three churches and the Concord Center and Park. The park is used for practices and games, and the Concord Center is used for day camps, daycares and other activities. 

Battery Park is popular for its convenience. A short walk will take residents to the heart of downtown Bethesda. At the same time, though, Congregation Beth El, the Bethesda United Methodist Church, Greenwich Park and NIH are just up Old Georgetown Road. Also, the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad often hosts community activities.  

Bradley Hills is located near the heart of Bethesda. It is across the street from Kenwood Park, including the Radnor Center and park and the Kenwood Country Club. The Bethesda Pool and the Little Falls Park are nearby, as is the Captial Crescent Trail.  

Bradley Hills Grove is the neighborhood across from the famous Burning Tree Country Club. This neighborhood has particularly large houses and a lot of new construction is occurring. River Road can easily be accessed from the neighborhood, which provides an easy and quick route to either Washington, D.C., Potomac, or I-495. 

Bradley Manor is a small neighborhood home to The Woods Academy, an independent Catholic School that features vast playing fields and play equipment. Also only a few steps away is McCrillis Gardens, one of Bethesda’s best-kept secrets. The gardens are a beautiful public area that is great for springtime strolls. Often, weddings and other ceremonies take place at McCrillis Gardens. Bradley Manor is near to the Old Georgetown Club pool, and a short drive from Montgomery Mall. 

Bradley Park is the neighborhood located around Burning Tree Elementary School and its park. This great school is just steps from most homes in the neighborhood and the park is often used for baseball and soccer practice or to play a game of family football.  

Bradley Woods is a small neighborhood between the Landon School for boys, Wilson Lane and Bradley Boulevard. Convenience is key for this neighborhood a many major road are close by, though the neighborhood is secluded at the same time.  

Bradmoor Terrace is located near Bradley Hills Elementary School and Suburban Hospital. It is a popular place to live for employees of the National Institute of Health. 

Burning Tree Estates is behind the Burning Tree Country Club and runs alongside the Beltway and Seven Locks Road. Nearby is Seven Locks Elementary School and several churches. 

Burning Tree Valley is located around the Holton Arms School. Holton Arms is a prestigious private school for girls. Its unofficial counterpart, the Landon School for boys, is only a few minutes drive away. The Burning Tree Country Club is only a few minutes away, and River Road (with access to Washington, D.C. and Potomac) is just down the road. 

Carderock is located between Rock Run Park and the Naval Surface Center. It is popular because of its beautiful homes in a secluded neighborhood. It is on the border between Bethesda and Potomac. 

Carderock Springs is known for its larger homes in a beautiful setting. The neighborhood is alongside Congressional Country Club and Cabin John Creek Park. Carderock Springs Elementary School and several local parks are only a short walk away. MacArthur Plaza, a small shopping center is very closeby and access to the Beltway is only a short drive from the neighborhood.  

Clewerwall is located near Persimmon Tree Road and the Congressional Country Club. It is bordered on its southern side by Rock Run Park. 

Drumaldry is located along Bradley Boulevard, near the intersection of Greentree and Fernwood Roads. Drumaldry is home to the Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, a Bethesda landmark now housing both a Jewish and Presbyterian congregation and being home to many community concerts and events.  

Edgemoor is a one of only a few neighborhoods right in the heart of Bethesda. Within walking distance is the Bradley Shopping Center, Bethesda Elementary School, and the plethora of shops and restaurants that make downtown Bethesda so popular. 

English Village is the neighborhood across the street from the Landon School for Boys. It is a small community that is only a short walk from Landon, Pyle Middle School and Walt Whitman High School. Wilson Lane borders the neighborhood and provides a quick way to get into downtown Bethesda. 

Fernwood is located near Ashburton Elementary School, a great school with playing fields and equipment. It is very near to Montgomery Mall and Bethesda United Church. The neighborhood is also convenient to I-495 and I-270.  

Georgetown is within walking distance of Davis Library, Wildwood Shopping Center, Georgetown Square Shopping Center and Montgomery Mall. It is also very close to Ashburton Elementary School, and is convenient to the Beltway and I-270.  

Glen Echo Heights is located along Massachusetts Avenue near the Glen Echo Fire Station. Wood Acres Park is a popular destination for walking and playing and is only a short walk across Massachusetts Avenue.  

Green Acres is a neighborhood located along the intersection with Massachusetts Avenue and Little Falls Parkway. It is home to the Westbard Shopping Center, which is right across the street from Strike Bethesda, a popular local bowling alley. Westland Middle School is a short walk away, and Wood Acres Elementary School is a long walk or short drive up the road.  

Green Tree Manor is located between Wyngate Elementary School and Greentree Road. Wyngate Elementary School is within steps of the whole neighborhood and provides access to playing fields and equipment. The Old Georgetown Club pool is just across the road and Montgomery Mall is a short drive away. 

Greenwich Forest is a great neighborhood located between Huntington Parkway and Wilson Lane. A short drive or a long walk will take residents to the Landon School, Pyle Middle School, Walt Whitman High School, Congregation Beth El, Bethesda United Methodist Church, and downtown Bethesda.  

Highland Hills is the neighborhood behind the Landon School for Boys. It is walking distance from Landon, and is only a short bike ride up Wilson Lane to get to Pyle Middle School. Also, Bradley Boulevard and Huntington Parkway are just a couple of minutes away, making access to downtown Bethesda very easy.  

Huntington is a small neighborhood bordered by Old Georgetown Road and Bradley Hills Elementary School. Smaller homes can be found in this neighborhood. Bradley Hills is an easy walk from the community and features expansive fields for playing on a nice day. Suburban Hospital is also just a few steps away. 

Kenwood Park is popular for Bethesda families because of its close proximity to Walt Whitman High School. It also features the fields of Radnor Center, a popular place for neighborhood kids to play sports. For golfers, Kenwood Country Club is right in the neighborhood. 

Laurel Hill is located alongside Cabin John Creek Park, making the neighborhood attractive for nature lovers. In addition to its beauty, Laurel Hill is only a short walk from Seven Locks Elementary School and the Seven Locks Pool.  

Locust Ridge is a neighborhood behind Walt Whitman High School. It is popular because of its proximity to Whitman and the Whittier Woods Park and tennis courts. It is also convenient to River Road and Wilson Lane, providing a quick route to Wasington, D.C. and Potomac.  

Longwood is home to some of the largest and most expensive homes in Bethesda. It features McCrillis Gardens, one of Bethesda’s best-kept secrets. The gardens are a beautiful public area that is great for springtime strolls. Often, weddings and other ceremonies take place at McCrillis Gardens. The Woods Academy, an independent Catholic School, is also located just a few steps from the Longwood neighborhood. It features vast playing fields and play equipment. 

Maplewood is located along the north side of the National Institute of Health. It is between Old Georgetown Road and Rockville Pike, making access to Rockville, Bethesda, I-270 and I-495 very easy. Also nearby is the Maplewood-Alta Vista Park, a great place to take a walk, throw around a ball or play on the playground. 

Marymount borders Democracy Boulevard and Old Georgetown Road. It is home to Davis Library and Ashburton Elementary School. I-270 and I-495 can be easily accessed, as can Montgomery Mall and, Georgetown Square Shopping Center and Wildwood Shopping Center.  

Merrimack Park is a small community located near the intersection of River and Goldsboro Roads, across from Kenwood Park. It features Merrimack Pool, a great summer destination. 

Northwest Park is home to some of downtown Betheda’s best restaurants. There are also several apartment buildings in this small neighborhood, making access to downtown Bethesda and the Metro as easy as walking out the front door. 

Oakwood Knolls is located between Walt Whitman High School and Pyle Middle School, and is a short walk from each. 

The Palisades, not to be confused with the Washington, D.C. neighborhood sharing its name, is located along Macarthur Boulevard near Rock Run Park and the Congressional Country Club.  

Pooks Hill is home to the Promenade, a large cooperative complex complete with a swimming pool, restaurant, and grocery store. The neighborhood also has a number of town homes. The Pooks Hill Marriott is nearby as well, as is access to the beltway and I-270. 

Rose Hill Estates is located between Bradley Boulevard and Seven Locks Road. The Bethesda Country Club and the Burning Tree Country Club are right nearby, as is Seven Locks Elementary School and the Seven Locks Pool. Access to the Beltway and I-270 is right nearby. 

Smithfield is known for its proximity to Cabin John Park. The community is filled with tall trees, making this a haven for nature lovers. It is also convenient to Bethesda Country Club and Montgomery Mall.  

Sonoma is a growing community across from the National Institute of Health. Arylawn Park is located in the heart of this community and is a fabulous place for sledding in the winter or throwing the ball around in the spring. 

Springfield is located between Massachusetts Avenue and River Road. Wood Acres Elementary School and Park are just a few blocks away and is always a fun place to walk. Westland Middle School is also a short walk in the other direction, as is Westbard Shopping Center. Church of the Little Flower and Fourth Presbyterian Church are in the neighborhood. Also, the shopping, dining, and Metro station at Friendship Heights are just a short drive down the road, as is access to Washington, D.C. via Massachusetts Avenue.  

Stratton Woods is across Fernwood road from the Fernwood neighborhood. It is bordered by the beltway and I-270, and has very easy access to Montgomery Mall and Old Georgetown road, a major Bethesda throughway. The Wildwood and Georgetown Square shopping centers are a short drive away. 

Sumner is located across Massachusetts Avenue from Westland Middle School. Little Falls Mall is nearby, as is Little Falls Branch Park. The neighborhood has easy access to Washington, D.C. via Massachusetts Avenue. Westland Middle School and the Little Falls Library are only a short walk away, and Wood Acres Elementary School and Park are just up the street. 

Tulip Hill is located along the Potomac River and the C & O Canal. It is bordered by MacArthur Boulevard and Goldsboro Road. The Washington Waldorf School is in the neighboring Sumner area and Kenwood Country Club is a short drive away.

Neighborhood kids can easily walk to both schools, and the schools are great places to have sports practices or just throw the ball around. Wilson Lane is very nearby, providing easy access to River Road (and Washington, D.C. and Potomac) and Bradley Boulevard. 

Westhaven is home to Westbrook Elementary School, between Massachusetts Avenue and Little Falls Parkway. The neighborhood is convenient to Washington, D.C., which is only a few minutes drive down Massachusetts Avenue. Westland Middle School is a short walk in the opposite direction, as is Kenwood Country Club.  

Wildwood Hills is located along Democracy Boulevard, between Bethesda Country Club and Montgomery Mall, both of which are an easy walk.
